Intermountain Guide Service came to Wendover in the summer of 2005 and began operations as the areas only tour company. Beginning with guided horseback, and ATV rides for visitors coming through Wendover. Fortunately, five years later with the sixth on the way IGS is still running daily guided ATV tours. More recent additions are the guided van tours of the Bonneville Salt Flats and the historic world war II Wendover Air Field.
The ATV rides take visitors into the hills north of Wendover, and offer spectacular trails and beautiful views that are unmatched. Our guides share their knowledge and make several stops to share interpretations about local plant and animal life, as well as geology and human history of the area. Rides normally last two hours, but one hour rides are available. If your interested in longer rides, we also offer 4 hour rides, and group discounts are available.
Salt flat van tours are usually an hour long and are done in a large air conditioned van and are great for those wanting to get outdoors without having to expend too much energy. Tours run daily and guides share history of the city and the history of the salt flats, as well as the natural and human history of the area. Wendover air base tours focus on the historical Wendover Airfield, the base was the largest Army reserve in the world at it's time with up to 20,000 residents, and over 1,000 air crews were trained there. The 509th composite group consisting of 1,700 men and lead by Col. Paul Tibbits, did a significant amount of their training for the first deployment of Atomic weapons at Wendover Field. At IGS we are happy to accommodate rides to whoever we can because we love sharing our knowledge with others and helping others enjoy the outdoors. We would love to have you out on a ride. for more info or contact us at http://www.intermountainguidenevada.com/ or call 1-877-UTAHFUN hope to see you soon!
